Lamar Jackson has been an electrifying quarterback ever since he entered the NFL in the 2018 season, and he already has two MVP awards to show for it.
However, the one thing critics get on him for is his inability to deliver enough wins for the Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs.
Though former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson said Jackson doesn’t need to win a Super Bowl championship, something he hasn’t done, to validate his greatness, he did say the QB does need to win a ring to silence those critics.
“You don’t want to ever be a two-time, three-time, four-time MVP of a league and not have the ‘chip’ in your back pocket, because the conversation is, ‘but … Lamar was great, but,’” Johnson said on “Speak.”

Last season, Jackson bounced back from two mediocre seasons to throw for 3,678 yards and 24 touchdowns while completing a career-high 67.2 percent of his pass attempts and adding 821 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. He earned his second NFL MVP award based on those efforts.
His numbers were down in the previous season as he dealt with a knee injury as well as some contract-related drama that threatened to lead him away from Baltimore.
But he got a hefty new contract prior to last season, and it perhaps liberated him to have a great year.
Baltimore had the NFL’s best regular season record in 2023, but as the top seed, the Ravens lost meekly to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
They get a chance to make a statement when they open the 2024 NFL season against those same Chiefs.
