Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns recently created a few headlines when he said that he should be in the conversation for the greatest basketball player of all time.
This has led to many other writers, analysts, and fans giving their two cents on the matter.
On “Undisputed,” Keyshawn Johnson said that Durant should be talked about as a possible GOAT, but under certain conditions.
“If we’re talking about skillset, he does. Championship-wise, no because he went to Golden State,” Johnson said.
Does Kevin Durant belong in the GOAT conversation?

Like many others, Johnson says that Durant’s move to the Golden State Warriors after years with the Oklahoma City Thunder hurts his legacy.
If he had stuck with the Thunder or moved to another team and won his two championships and two Finals MVP trophies, he would have easily earned a spot in NBA history and would be spoken of as a possible GOAT.
But many people had a problem with how he joined the Warriors, seemingly making a “superteam.”
However, Johnson doesn’t blame Durant for the move and said he would have likely done the same thing if he had been given the chance.
Yet, he thinks that people will always allow this move to color their opinion of Durant.
More than anything, Johnson said that Durant shouldn’t listen to what other people say about him and should instead be proud of all he has accomplished and his incredible skill set.
No matter what people say, Durant is definitely one of the most consequential and important players of his generation and that is worth a lot, Johnson said.
He believes that Durant shouldn’t respond to these conversations anymore but most people agree that probably isn’t going to happen.
