The second round of the 2024 NBA Draft is officially underway, with some player movement happening between teams as they try to put together a competitive roster for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.
Although it isn’t a blockbuster trade like the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls paid off with Alex Caruso joining forces with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey heading to the Windy City or the New York Knicks bringing in Mikal Bridges in a deal with the Brooklyn Nets, it still might be substantial for the Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors moving forward.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Kings have sent Davion Mitchell and Sasha Vezenkov to the Raptors in exchange for Jalen McDaniels via NBA on ESPN.

At this point in time, these are two franchises heading in entirely different directions, with the Kings hoping to get back in the mix with the heavyweights in the Western Conference while the Raptors continue their rebuilding process, which was officially kicked off earlier this year when they sent star forward Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers.
The Raptors are essentially trying to get value for the players they can get interested in around the league while Mike Brown and company try to bolster their roster to take on some of the best teams in the West, like the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, and Thunder.
It remains to be seen what kind of impact this will have on these two teams, as they could make more substantial moves in the coming months, especially during NBA free agency.
