After more than a season of constant rumors and endless speculation, Klay Thompson recently left the Golden State Warriors for the Dallas Mavericks.
This marks a major change for Thompson but he is embracing it and what it can do for his future.
Speaking to the press, per 95.7 The Game, Thompson talked about how thankful he is for Golden State but how he is ready to try something new.
“I’m very grateful for my time at Golden State, but I just felt like moving on could just re-energize me and do something special for the rest of my career,” Thompson said.

Thompson is leaving behind a massive legacy with Golden State.
No matter how things ended, Thompson was a crucial part of a historic period for the team that featured four championship wins.
As one-half of the Splash Brothers, Thompson’s place in Warriors history will remain strong forever.
But it was clear that things weren’t working out lately.
Thompson was producing diminished numbers, fell in and out of the starting lineup, and didn’t seem very happy.
Perhaps a change of scenery will be exactly what he needs.
Now he will be performing alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving and he might receive a boost of energy, shake off all rust, and look like his former self again.
Even with his recent troubles, Warriors fans will miss Thompson and it doesn’t look like there are any hard feelings on either side of this breakup.
Many Golden State followers will continue to cheer on Thompson, even though he is wearing a different jersey.
And Thompson is making it clear that he will always love the team and fans that got him this far.
