Drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2011, Klay Thompson has the rare distinction of spending more than a decade with the same team.
That run, which included four NBA championships, may be coming to an end.
Thompson is a five-time All-Star who, at 34, is certainly playing in the final years of his career, but he and many others feel he still has enough in the tank to be a valuable contributor.
NBA insider Evan Sidery, per Anthony Slater, reported that Thompson may be searching for greener pastures as his relationship with his current employer could be beyond repair.
Sidery noted, “There is a feeling a split might be best for both parties as Thompson has felt slighted by Golden State in this process.”
Klay Thompson is looking elsewhere as the relationship between he and the Warriors might not be repairable, per @anthonyVslater (https://t.co/wMEPvRZE68).

Thompson battled back from ACL and Achilles injuries that kept him off the hardcourt for two and a half years.
The team’s fourth NBA title highlighted his return in 2022, and Thompson played no small part in that championship run.
To see Steph Curry’s backcourt mate ride off into the sunset with another franchise is not optimal, but that’s the reality of professional sports.
The team finished outside the playoff hunt last season and 10th in the Western Conference, so change is obviously coming for the four-time champions.
The rumor mill is churning out multiple franchises as having interest in Thompson’s services, including the 76ers, Nuggets and Mavericks.
Whatever the future holds for the guard, it appears more likely every day that it will not be with Golden State.
