For years, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Stephen Curry have talked about their desire to retire with the Golden State Warriors.

Then again, that might not be the case.

Curry is obviously the greatest player in franchise history and they most likely will never let him go, and they’ve already re-signed Draymond Green to a long-term contract, although they could always look to trade him.

But more than that, Klay Thompson is going to become a free agent after this season, and some think his days in the Bay area could be coming to an end.

With that in mind, the four-time NBA champion talked to Draymond Green during his recent appearance on his podcast, and he was brutally honest about his potential departure (Via The Volume).

As much as Thompson would love to finish his career with the Dubs, he claimed that he was also going to prioritize his mental health and what’s best for him.

“Yes I wanna re-sign with the Dubs, but I also have to prioritize my mental health and lay out what’s important to me at this point in my career”

That makes perfect sense.

It seems like the writing is on the wall for him to be on his way out, as his role is diminished, the Warriors didn’t want to meet his financial expectations, and he could get a lot of money from other teams.

The Orlando Magic are reportedly looking forward to making a run at him in the offseason, and they have more than enough cap space to afford his services.

It might be weird to watch him play for a different team but at the end of the day, this is just business.
