Prior to missing two full seasons due to back-to-back season-ending injuries, Klay Thompson was one of the best players in the NBA.
However, Thompson’s prime was cut short due to the above-mentioned injuries, and he is no longer the star he once was for the Golden State Warriors.
It is evident from the fact that Thompson has struggled to play well throughout the course of the season, and as a result, head coach Steve Kerr demoted him to a bench role.
In his first game coming off the bench, Thompson had an excellent performance against the Utah Jazz and also etched his name in Warriors history.
Thompson became only the sixth player in the history of the organization to score more than 15,000 points in his career, and he shared his reaction to it via Warriors on NBCS on Twitter.
“For me to be in that 15,000-point club and being the sixth Warriors to do it is a huge honor,” Thompson said.

As expected, Klay Thompson was honored to become one of the only six players in Warriors history to score more than 15,000 points in their careers.
He expressed his gratitude for being provided the opportunity to be in conversation with some Basketball Hall of Famers.
Thompson reached the honor following his explosive 35-point performance off the bench for the Warriors during their recent matchup against the Utah Jazz.
As of now, Thompson has 15,022 points to his name.
Considering he is in the twilight years of his career, there is no guarantee that Klay Thompson will be able to crack the 20,000 points club for the Warriors when it’s all said and done.
