Klay Thompson isn’t just a Golden State Warriors legend; he’s a future first-ballot Hall of Famer.

Considered one of the greatest shooters this game has ever seen, the Warriors would’ve never found the same success without him.

His role and importance for this team were always evident, but it became even more obvious when he had to miss two seasons because of injuries.

The Warriors didn’t even make the playoffs without him, and they won another NBA championship as soon as he came back.

Fast forward to today, and Thompson is no longer the star he once was, but he’s still a productive member of this team.

That’s why, following the team’s win over the Utah Jazz, Klay admitted that he was quite proud of the fact that he was able to stay on the court this season (Via Warriors on NBC Sports).

Klay has played in 74 of his team’s 78 games this season.

He’s 34 years old and has been through a lot to get to this point, and not many players would’ve been able or even resilient enough to come back from the back-to-back major injuries he suffered.

Thompson’s career may have been cut short, or at least his prime.

He’s struggled to cope with that, but now that he’s finally embraced a different role and is just happy to do his part and contribute, he could end up being the X-Factor this team needs to take a leap forward in the Play-In Tournament.
