Klay Thompson is obviously considered one of the best shooters in NBA history but is he also a good defensive player?
Fans will continue to debate that but Thompson believes he can bring a lot to both ends of the court.
Speaking with Grant Afseth, per Legion Hoops, Thompson said he’s still powerful when it comes to defense.
“At this point in my career, I mean, I still can’t leave me open, and I can guard… I just still know I can be a very, very good player in this league,” Thompson said.

As one-half of the Splash Brothers during his years with the Golden State Warriors, Thompson cemented his status as a terrific shooter who could sink shots from all over the court.
But his defensive skills weren’t often celebrated, although Thompson believes he still has something to offer in that department.
He will be put to the test with the Dallas Mavericks because his new team needs a lot of help when it comes to defense.
They already have a couple of great scorers with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, but they need players who can get stops, rebounds, and steals.
Will Thompson be able to deliver?
His first season with the Mavericks won’t only be about defense; Thompson will need to show that his shooting abilities have returned.
He wasn’t scoring like his regular self during his final season with the Warriors and he is hoping to get back on track during his time with the Mavericks.
