After an inspired second half of the 2023 NFL regular season, following the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels, who clearly wasn’t the right man for the job, the Las Vegas Raiders are debating whether to hire Antonio Pierce as their new head coach in Sin City.
Once Pierce was forced to take over for McDaniels as the interim head coach, he quickly won over the players in Las Vegas and helped lead the team to a 5-4 record to finish the 2023 campaign, which included three wins in the last four games.
Pierce made such an impact on the Raiders’ players that most, if not all, of the locker room, including star players Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby, have lobbied for the team to hire him as their new leader on the sideline.
Crosby recently said that if the Raiders and owner Mark Davis don’t hire Pierce, he will consider his options and potentially ask to be traded, which is a bold statement, to say the least.
If Pierce gets the top job in Las Vegas, Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports is reporting that he has a source saying Kliff Kingsbury could be the new offensive coordinator for the Raiders, as he said on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”

That’s an interesting development, as there hasn’t been a lot of speculation about what the team will do to fill out the coaching staff in Las Vegas, but this could be a big hint that Pierce is on the verge of locking up the job.
With Jim Harbaugh doing the rounds, Pierce will want to secure this job sooner rather than later, especially with other teams showing interest in his services as a head coach.
