With the NBA trade deadline only a few weeks away on February 8, the rumors are heating up around the league about some big-name players potentially heading elsewhere.
On Wednesday, the first big domino fell ahead of the trade deadline, with the Toronto Raptors finally trading star forward Pascal Siakam.
The Raptors traded the one-time NBA champion to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for multiple draft picks, with Bruce Brown Jr. being the most notable player coming back to Toronto.
With Siakam now off the board, it’ll be interesting to see if other trade talks in the league start to kick into high gear, with one-time All-Star Dejounte Murray being arguably the next big-name player expected to be on the move before next month’s deadline.
Apparently, the New York Knicks are one of the teams interested in Murray as well as Malcolm Brogdon, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Terry Rozier, according to Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News, via NBACentral.

With the Knicks playing well this season and being arguably another piece away from potentially making the jump to the higher seeds in the Eastern Conference, New York being aggressive in their pursuit of these notable players won’t be all that surprising.
Clearly, it seems as though the Knicks are prioritizing backcourt help, with these guards being on their shortlist of players they’ll be going after ahead of the trade deadline.
Murray would be an ideal backcourt partner with Jalen Brunson, as would Brogdon, so it’ll be interesting to see if they can get a move done in the coming weeks.
