For most of the season, and particularly late in the campaign, it seemed like the New York Knicks were poised to make a deep postseason run.

Even without Julius Randle, Jalen Brunson had his team firing on all cylinders, with multiple role players stepping up to fill the void on offense.

Now, with Randle’s future up in the air, some believe that this season proved that they could move on from him and find players who are better complements for what they already have.

Notably, it seems like that includes some people within the organization.

According to a report by Sam Amico, the Knicks could make a run at Karl-Anthony Towns, provided that he’s made available (via Dime Alerts).

There was a report that claimed that the Timberwolves could field calls for him if they end up selling the team.

This move would allow Towns, a Jersey native, to reunite with coach Tom Thibodeau, all while the Timberwolves could still have a frontcourt presence by adding Randle.

The Knicks are one of the few teams that could actually pull off a trade like this, as they have the assets and salary flexibility to do so.

Also, Towns has already embraced a lesser role and taken a step back behind Anthony Edwards, so he should be able to do the same in the Big Apple, with Jalen Brunson as the centerpiece of their project going forward.
