The New York Knicks were among the best teams in the Eastern Conference last year, finishing the regular season with the fifth-best record.

They entered the playoffs with a lot of momentum, and many fans and analysts projected them to make a deep run, perhaps making it to the NBA Finals.

Despite putting up a good fight, the Knicks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the second round, falling in seven games.

This was a heartbreaking result for the Knicks, who have tried hard to remain relevant but continue to fall short.

Thankfully for Knicks fans, the team morale is still high, and they’ve spent the early stages of the offseason making key adds to their roster.

Not only did the team make a massive move to acquire Mikal Bridges earlier in the offseason, but, as Shams Charania has recently reported via Evan Sidery, the team made a move to sign Cam Payne to a veteran minimum deal.

Payne is a nine-year NBA veteran who has played with several teams, including the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers.

The Knicks already have a dominant point guard in Jalen Brunson, but having a backup like Payne is essential, as he has proven to be a capable depth piece.

Payne proved invaluable to the Suns and hopes to reclaim his career with the Knicks.

Many fans and analysts project the Knicks to make a deep playoff run this year, which could be a good sign for Payne moving forward.
