The 2023-2024 NBA Season ended sooner for the New York Knicks than they anticipated.
After putting together one of their best regular-season performances in years, the Knicks fell to the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the playoffs.
While this could cause some teams to think about rebuilding for the future, the Knicks have spent the offseason trying to get better for the upcoming year, hoping to address their shortcomings.
They have already traded for Mikal Bridges and Keita Bates-Diop and re-signed OG Anunoby, a key role player for them last season.
All three of these players could make a meaningful impact on the roster next season, but judging by recent reports, the Knicks are far from finished as it relates to their new roster.
According to reporter Ian Begley via Evan Sidery on Twitter, “The Knicks recently offered two first-round picks for Walker Kessler, which the Jazz declined.”

The Knicks are interested in adding a new center, as Isaiah Hartenstein is no longer with the team.
Kessler has caught their attention, and while two first-round picks weren’t enough to acquire him, they are still working out a deal to add him to their roster.
Having a strong center on your team has proven to be a key to sustained playoff success.
The Knicks don’t necessarily have that without Hartenstein, which is why they are pursuing a player of Kessler’s ilk so intently.
Will they find a way to lure Kessler away from the Utah Jazz, or will they have to turn elsewhere?
