The New York Knicks have one of the surprise teams of the season in the NBA, with the Eastern Conference heavyweights exceeding expectations up to this point, and the team is getting it done in the NBA playoffs without star forward Julius Randle.
At one point in time, Randle was the new face of the Knicks organization, but now that has shifted with point guard Jalen Brunson taking over that role and running with it, as he’s been one of the most popular Knicks in the history of the franchise.
One former superstar who knows what it takes to be the face of the franchise in New York is Hall of Famer Bernard King, who was considered to be the greatest scorer in the team’s history until Brunson came along and has put on a show offensively during the playoffs.
King recently made an appearance on ESPN’s “NBA Today” with Malika Andrews and Kendrick Perkins to talk about Brunson and how well he’s played for the Knicks during this postseason run, via NBA on ESPN.
“He’s mastered the art of scoring,” King said. … “You have to understand defense in order to be an effective scorer, and he understands that very well.”

It’s incredible to think that Brunson, who was once considered a second star or role player with the Dallas Mavericks next to Luka Doncic, is the first player since NBA legend Michael Jordan with four straight 40-point playoff games.
Brunson has elevated himself to superstar status in New York this year, which is impressive, to say the least, considering his supporting cast.
