For years, the New York Knicks have been tied to pretty much every single big name in the league.
They’ve always kept tabs on the best players in the league, trying to lure them in free agency, but to no avail.
That’s why whenever a big-name player becomes available, the Knicks are always one of the first names to pop out as a potential destination.
Recently, they had been tied with a potential move for Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns, as the word around the league is that he could be had at the right price.
That’s why Fred Katz of The Athletic made it known that the Knicks have shown absolutely no interest in trading for the former No. 1 pick (via NBACentral).
The Knicks are NOT interested in trading for Karl-Anthony Towns, per @FredKatz
“But it’s not like the Minnesota Timberwolves are trying to tear their team down. According to league sources who have talked business with them, the Wolves have set a sky-high price on Towns, too.… pic.twitter.com/3OwsN9SBH9

Moreover, Katz adds that as much as the Timberwolves could consider moving Towns, it’s not like they’re trying to tear their team down right away.
They’ve apparently set a “sky-high” price for their All-Star, and rightfully so.
Towns might not be a good fit next to Rudy Gobert, and he’s their most movable piece right now.
Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean they should just give him away, considering he’s still young and has proven to be capable of putting up huge numbers when healthy.
Of course, defense, health, and some rumored character issues could be a big concern to whichever team engages in trade talks for him, but he’s one of the best players in the league had should be valued as such anyway.
