The New York Knicks are hoping to build off their successful 2022-23 season.
To do that, they want to put the best possible roster on the floor.
It seems like the Knicks have brought back a lot of the same players from their Eastern Conference semifinals team from last season.
But, if you can acquire a star in the NBA, that always has to be something the front office considers.
One star player that might be available this season is Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.
The 76ers have not been able to win anything with Embiid over the past few seasons.
So the rumor mill has been churning about a potential trade of Embiid to the Knicks.
But, Knicks All-Star Julius Randle is not buying into the noise.
According to Steve Popper, Randle said this about the trade talks: “We’ve been in every one since I’ve been here, good or bad. It’s always a rumor.”

With a franchise as popular as the Knicks, it makes sense they are constantly involved in rumors.
But, they have been trying to acquire a star for a while.
Many believed they were involved in talks to acquire Donovan Mitchell when he was available for trade from the Utah Jazz before last season.
Ever since that did not work out every star player who could be available has been linked to New York.
They are a major-market team and one of the most popular in the sport.
But, they need a star player to help get them back into championship contention.
