The New York Knicks’ season is over, but that doesn’t mean they won’t partake in the NBA Finals — sort of.

The league continues to give a platform to current and former players, and the NBA Finals are the perfect opportunity for fans to listen to their input and insight.

With that in mind, ESPN will have Knicks star Julius Randle as a part of their team to cover Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks.

Per New York Basketball, Randle will be at the TD Garden, and he’ll join Malika Andrews, Michael Wilbon, Stephen A. Smith, Bob Myers, and Adrian Wojnarowski.

Randle will also be a very busy man in the offseason, or at least, he’s going to be a regular name around NBA news.

There has been plenty of talk about whether the Knicks should keep him or trade him.

Some think he’s not as good as they thought he was and that they’re more than capable of winning without him, whereas others think he was the missing piece and another go-to scorer they needed in the playoffs.

Truth be told, a strong case could be made for both lines of thought, and the Knicks will have to do an extensive review of his impact and his potential market.

The Knicks are expected to be one of the most aggressive suitors for another star, either in free agency or via trade.

For now, however, he’ll just focus on what goes down on the court between the Celtics and Mavericks.
