The Cleveland Cavaliers might not have made as many offseason changes as other teams but they definitely did a few things recently.

And president of basketball operations Koby Altman is truly satisfied with what his team has done.

“I’m really, really happy with our acquisitions,” Altman said to 92.3 The Fan.

He said the recent additions were part of being “targeted and intentional to put around our core four, if you will, some really dynamic shooting.”

In the last week, the Cavaliers have added Max Strus from the Miami Heat, Ty Jerome from the Golden State Warriors, and Georges Niang from the Philadelphia 76ers.

They also re-signed Caris LeVert, a move that made many fans happy.

Altman’s claim that the front office’s goal was to build dynamic shooting around the “core four” will also make fans happy.

That core four – Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen – have worked quite well together but they have been missing one or two other pieces to make them truly great.

Their defense has been surprisingly strong.

While their offense was also impressive, it could always use more assistance.

After a great regular season that saw them perform better than they have in years, the Cavaliers hit multiple bumps in the road during the playoffs.

They were then promptly pushed out of the first round by the New York Knicks.

The goal of the offseason was to build around what was already there.

The strong core will remain the same and these new additions will make it even better, according to Altman.
