The Washington Wizards didn’t hesitate to take on Jordan Poole as the new face of their franchise.
Giving up on Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis pretty much doomed their chances to compete, but pairing Kyle Kuzma with Poole could give them something interesting to work with.
With that in mind, NBA legend Kevin Garnett talked about how he feels like Poole is the new James Harden, via Showtime Basketball.
Garnett compared his situation to Harden’s, stating that Harden arrived in Houston as someone who had something to prove and who felt left out during his days with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Big Ticket stated that Poole felt held back with the Golden State Warriors, so he’ll now be ready to prove what he’s worth and give the rest of the league a glimpse of what he’s capable of.
He also praised Kuzma and stated that they could be the new top duo in the league, as they both have a showmanship to them that makes them interesting to watch, and the former Lakers forward shouted him out on Twitter.

Even so, he predicted that the Wizards would be the Jordan Poole show, adding that he’s be shocked if he’s not top-five in scoring and drops at least two 60+ point games.
Garnett stated that Poole will take at least 25 shots per game in the nation’s capital, and he’s right on cue there.
The Wizards aren’t likely to compete at the highest level, at least not for the time being.
But if Poole turns out to be as good as Harden was, it won’t be long before they become a contender.
