The Washington Wizards are entering a new era after trading away their superstar Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns earlier this offseason.
They primarily received Chris Paul in the trade package and later sent him to the Golden State Warriors to acquire Jordan Poole.
Heading into the 2023-24 season, Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma will be the primary scorers for the Wizards.
But it seems like the team has found a hidden gem, Eugene Omoruyi, during training camp.
Omoruyi had solid games against the Cairns Taipans and Charlotte Hornets, and it led to Kuzma vouching for him to get a roster spot via Twitter.

Kuzma’s three-word tweet came in response to a fan tweet that mentioned Omoruyi’s eye-popping numbers this preseason.
In two games, Omoruyi has recorded 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals while playing 12 minutes each game.
If Omoruyi can consistently play at this level, he should definitely earn a spot on the Wizards’ roster before the start of the season.
Last season, Omoruyi played 40 games combined for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons.
He averaged 7.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game.
But over the summer, Omoruyi has apparently focused on being an elite defender.
The Washington Wizards are in dire need of a solid defender ahead of the 2023-24 season.
They finished the 2022-23 season with a 35-47 record, which was only good enough for clinching the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference.
Now, with the loss of Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis, not many believe the Wizards will finish with a better record this season.
