With the NFC South looking wide open, the Atlanta Falcons could very well be a sleeper to capture the division.
Their path to the playoffs started off on the right foot as the Falcons beat the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.
Atlanta featured a heavy dose of the running game as they constantly featured Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allegier.
The Panthers knew what was coming, but Arthur Smith continued to call running plays that eventually wore their opponents out and led to a convincing victory.
With the running backs taking most of the touches, fans didn’t get a chance to see much of Kyle Pitts who is healthy following an MCL injury he suffered last season.
Pitts’ first game back may not have been anything to write home about, but that didn’t stop him from making a lofty goal for himself of Comeback Player Of The Year via his Twitter account.

Pitts only managed to appear in 10 games in 2022 due to the knee injury, racking up 28 receptions for 356 yards and two touchdowns.
The tight end is certainly in the mix for the award, though he’s going to have some competition for it as there are several other players that are worthy of winning it.
Players like Tua Tagovailoa, Matthew Stafford, and Breece Hall immediately come to mind as each of them also came away with wins in Week 1.
It will be an interesting race to watch throughout the rest of the regular season, though Pitts is going to have to produce more on the field if he hopes to make good on his word.
