Every player reaches a point when he knows it’s time to walk away from the NFL, and that time has come for TE Kyle Rudolph.

The former Minnesota Vikings star told Jordan Schultz that he’s officially done playing.

He also told Schultz that he intends to retire as a member of the Vikings, stating that they’ll honor him during their Week 3 home game vs. the Los Angeles Chargers on September 24.

The Vikings took Rudolph in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and he went on to play a full decade there.

He was a two-time Pro Bowler in the Twin Cities, and he ranks sixth in franchise history in both games played (140) and receiving touchdowns (48).

He’s also No. 11 in total receiving yards (4,488) and became a fan favorite for his unmatched work within the community.

Rudolph opened the “Kyle Rudolph’s End Zone” at the Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, a place expected to help the youth engage in healing therapies, relax, and play while at the hospital.

He later joined the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for one season each after being released by the Vikings in 2021, and now he’s set to end things where it all started.
