The Philadelphia Phillies knew what they were getting when signing Kyle Schwarber before the 2022 season.
He has always been a player who strikes out a ton, but he can parlay that into a ton of home runs.
Schwarber has been as advertised for the Phillies during his two years.
Last season he hit 46 home runs with 94 RBI, most of which came from the leadoff spot in their lineup.
This season he is putting together very similar numbers.
Schwarber may be hitting .193, but he does have 40 home runs with 89 RBI.
Talkin’ Baseball showed off his moonshot from Monday’s game, which gave him back-to-back 40-homer seasons with the Phillies.

Schwarber has been everything the Phillies have hoped for when they signed him.
Not only is he a great power hitter, but he is also one of the leaders of their clubhouse.
When you look across the league, Schwarber is not a prototypical leadoff hitter.
His batting average is way below the league average but he gets on base at an elite rate.
His 109 walks rank second in baseball.
It may not be pretty, but the 30-year-old gets the job done for the Phillies.
He is best served as a designated hitter at this point in his career.
Due to a lack of athleticism, he is not a good outfielder.
But, he must remain in the Phillies lineup at all costs because he does enough at the plate to be worthy of an everyday role.
