The rich always find ways to get richer, and the San Francisco 49ers are definitely wealthy.

Adding Chase Young to an already elite defensive unit is paying dividends, and it has evidently helped Nick Bosa get his groove back.

The Niners have jumped to an 8-3 record thanks to their explosive offense — which ranks first in the league — but their defense is peaking at the right time, and it was on full display in the 31-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Coach Kyle Shanahan raved about his team’s defensive performance and how they managed to keep their divisional rivals out of the end zone for the full sixty minutes, not to mention all the pressure they put on Geno Smith.

The Niners scored on four of their first eight possessions, with Christian McCaffrey dominating in the air and the ground and Deebo Samuel also making the most of his dual-threat skill set to wreak havoc early in the game.

Even so, the defense was more impressive, holding the Seahawks to just 56 yards of total offense and three points in the first half, all while allowing just three first downs in their first six drafts.

By halftime, the Niners had won the time of possession battle 22:31 to 7:29.

They did allow a touchdown in the second half, but it was a Brock Purdy pick-six after a pass ricocheted off McCaffrey’s fingers in a series that started inside of their own five-yard line.

The Niners have the potential to be the most dominant juggernaut in the league.
