The San Francisco 49ers are widely regarded as one of the most well-run franchises in the NFL.
They routinely find themselves in the playoffs due to their draft strategies and solid head coaching.
In a recent press conference, head coach Kyle Shanahan identified a rare miss from the 2019 NFL Draft.
According to Shanahan via the KNBR radio station, he said that the 49ers were “jerks” to Maxx Crosby during interviews.

Crosby was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth round of that draft.
Despite his later-round draft capital, Crosby has quickly become a premier edge rusher.
He had 89 total tackles in the 2022 season and finished the year with 12.5 sacks.
Had the 49ers taken more time with him, they would have added an elite option to an already solid defense.
While Shanahan’s apology can’t make up for this pre-draft error, it might be an olive branch for Crosby.
Crosby was recently signed to a four-year extension with the Raiders.
As a whole, the Raiders have struggled, and have been unable to break through in the crowded AFC.
Crosby has been a bright spot for the organization who are looking to get back on track in 2023.
After being in rehab for alcohol-related issues, Crosby’s life has been turned around, largely due to his success in the NFL.
He is now an example for those who may feel stuck in their current situation, proving that nobody is too far gone to get the help they need.
