When Kyler Murray entered the NFL, he immediately set the league on fire.
His combination of arm talent and speed was immediately noted, as he was given the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2019.
While the Arizona Cardinals didn’t necessarily find the answers they were looking for in the win/loss column, they appeared to find their answer at quarterback.
After two more dominant seasons and signing a massive contract with the team, Murray’s production took a step back in 2022.
Through 11 weeks, the Cardinals had a 3-8 record, and in week 14, Murray tore his ACL in the game against the New England Patriots.
After this injury, Murray hasn’t been very vocal about his status moving forward and when he’ll return to play.
However, according to a recent press conference, Murray gave a slight update, per the PHNX Cardinals fan Twitter page.
“I don’t have a timetable,” Murray said, adding, “taking it one day at a time.”

In the past, different athletes have recovered from ACL injuries very differently.
Some have taken less than nine months to recover, while others have taken well over a year to return to play.
For others, an ACL injury has marked the end of their career.
Murray’s latest comments indicate that he’s not ready to give a firm answer and that his status is up in the air.
While Murray continues to rehab, hoping to return to play soon, the Cardinals are moving forward with Colt McCoy as their starter.
Can he start the season strong, putting the Cardinals within reach of a playoff spot by the time Murray comes back?
