The Dallas Mavericks are rolling during the final stretch of the 2023-24 NBA season, winning nine of their last 10 games to keep their slight hold on the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
The Mavericks picked up a crucial win over the Sacramento Kings, a team that’s directly competing with them for playoff positioning.
It was a thrilling game as Dallas went down in the first half before mounting a massive comeback in the fourth quarter to get the win.
Kyrie Irving led the way for the Mavericks as he led the team in scoring with 30 points, while Luka Doncic was right behind him with 26 of his own.
The Irving-Doncic pairing has looked as potent offensively as the front office hoped and the two appear to be hitting their groove at the perfect time.
After the win, Irving gave his honest thoughts on what it’s been like to play alongside Doncic via Landon Thomas of Mavs Fan For Life.
“I made a decision that I wanted to be one of the greatest to ever play this game. I know I have other peers of mine that are on that same mission. We’re all competing against each other. I’m fortunate to have one of the best to ever play the game in Luka with me,” Irving said.

Irving holds Doncic in high regard and has been happy to let his teammate bask in the spotlight as he puts together an MVP-caliber season.
The two have a lot more work to do in the coming weeks, but Irving and Doncic make for a formidable duo that can take over any playoff series.
