The Dallas Mavericks have no margin for error.
They’re now down 0-3, and no team has ever come back from such a deficit.
Needless to say, their chances of winning this series are pretty close to zero, but that doesn’t mean they’re not going to compete.
That’s why, following the loss, Kyrie Irving had a big analogy to explain their mindset and approach to Game 4.
Talking to the media, the former NBA champion claimed that they needed to get their ammo, bazooka, and 50-cal ready because they would have to shoot their shots with aggression to get right back in this series (via Noah Weber).
Kyrie Irving on his mindset going into Game 4 being down 0-3:
“Go home, get the ammo ready, get the bazooka, get the 50 cal ready, you know get everything ready cause when we come into Game 4 we know that we got to shoot our shots and we got to do it with an aggression.” pic.twitter.com/cBzPFnytRA

The Mavs hit the ground running and were quite aggressive early in Game 3, and it looked like they were ready to make a statement.
Then, slowly but surely, they started to deflate, and they could never pick the intensity up again in the second half.
The Celtics patiently waited for their moment, kept playing their game, got to their spots, and took the same shots, and the results were there.
Irving finally had a good game in this series after totaling 28 points in the first two games, but that wasn’t enough.
The rest of the Mavericks’ role players will also have to step up, as it’s been painfully evident that Luka Doncic is exhausted and banged up and will need as much help as he can get to try and make this one a series.
