Kyrie Irving is on top of the basketball world once again and is getting ready to lead his Dallas Mavericks in an NBA Finals matchup against the Boston Celtics.
LeBron recently spoke highly of Irving on his podcast, Mind the Game, which he co-hosts with JJ Redick and Kyrie recently shed some light on their relationship as well.
Mavericks beat reporter Joey Mistretta shared a recent quote from Kyrie, and he said “There were some things that got in the way of our relationship when I was younger. Now that I’m able to vocalize how I feel as a man…I feel like our relationship is different because of that now. Definitely miss him.”

Irving and James were an incredible combo, but Kyrie ended it prematurely by asking for a trade when LeBron still had a year left on his deal, as he seemingly wanted to break free from his shadow and do his own thing.
James wound up leaving a year later, so it’s fair to wonder if Kyrie could sense the writing was on the wall and pulled the plug before LeBron could do it to him.
Regardless, it’s great to see that the two still share fond memories of their time together and clearly still have a good relationship.
There have been rumors about Kyrie being sent to the Los Angeles Lakers for a few years now, but it’s becoming clear that Dallas was the right place for him.
