The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to make some moves throughout the offseason.

After falling short of their goals in the playoffs this year, the Lakers hope to improve their odds of making a deep postseason run next season.

They have two cornerstones in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but the team is looking for more stability outside of these two players.

While there have been several methods listed for the Lakers to acquire such stability, reporter Jake Fischer highlighted a potential move that is starting to pick up some steam.

“Los Angeles has also made that No. 17 selection available via trade, sources said, as the Lakers have evaluated the market for a significant contributor alongside James and Davis,” Fischer said.

The Lakers are shopping the No. 17 pick, and Jerami Grant is a potential trade target, per @JakeLFischer

Fischer suggested that the Lakers could be in the market to explore trading their first-round draft pick, especially if it could turn into a player like Jerami Grant.

Grant isn’t necessarily viewed as a superstar player, but he can certainly get the job done when called upon.

The good news for the Lakers is that they already have James and Davis, so they don’t necessarily need a player to come in and score over 20 points per night.

But, if they can find someone who is good with the basketball, has a lot of league experience, and can play well alongside their two stars, that could be worth a lot to them.

Perhaps even more than any prospective player they could acquire with the No. 17 overall pick in the draft.
