The Los Angeles Lakers entered the offseason with a few pressing questions to answer ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
After losing in the first round of the playoffs, it quickly became clear that the Lakers need to make some changes if they want to compete in the Western Conference next season.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis can only take a team so far, especially considering their age and years of experience in the league.
There have been several names thrown out there to help this team move forward.
One such name, which was recently highlighted by reporter Jake Fischer, is Jonas Valanciunas.
The Lakers could target Jonas Valanciunas as their starting center, per @JakeLFischer

Valanciunas also has a lot of experience under his belt, and he could be a solid veteran acquisition to this roster.
The Lakers are looking for another big man to assist Davis down the stretch, and Valanciunas could certainly provide that type of value to the organization.
Valanciunas played all 82 games for the New Orleans Pelicans last year, a sign that he is in good health.
Health could play a massive factor in the Lakers’ decision on their newest center, seeing that both James and Davis have struggled with injuries in recent years.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, and whether or not the Lakers pull the trigger on Valunciunas.
If the Lakers don’t do something soon, the last few years of James’ time in the NBA could be spent with a team that’s unwilling to make the big move or deal.
