The Los Angeles Lakers wanted to build a championship team around LeBron James.
That is why they made so many moves around the trade deadline to put the best team on the floor.
James is no spring chicken, as his NBA career may not have many more years remaining.
So competing for a championship every season with the all-time leading scorer is a must.
But, after getting swept in the Western Conference Finals, James may be looking to move on from basketball.
Chris Haynes reported after the game that James will consider retirement this offseason.
Now all NBA fans will be on the edge of their seat to see what James ends up doing.
According to Mark Medina, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka will support James in whatever decision he makes this offseason.

It will be a major shock if James was to retire from the NBA.
He still has plenty to give to the game, and he is still one of the best players in the league.
There seems to be a very small chance that he will walk away after getting swept in the conference finals.
Maybe all the retirement talk from James is just to get Pelinka to go all-in.
Some names that the Lakers may consider adding this offseason are Trae Young and Kyrie Irving.
Those could be the type of star player that James wants to play alongside.
The Lakers will be the most-watched team this offseason, as the moves they make could affect the future of James.
