“Continuity” is a word that keeps coming up for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Although they added a number of powerful assets during the summer, the biggest goal for them was to keep the core roster intact.
They did just that, with D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Austin Reaves, and others returning alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Speaking to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, head coach Darvin Ham praised the hard work of the team’s front office for making that happen.
But he added that the job isn’t even close to being done yet.
“We don’t want to win the headlines, we want to win games,” Ham stated.
The Lakers’ roster is definitely looking better than it has in years.
James and Davis are still anchoring the team, while younger players like Russell, Reaves, and more are contributing a lot.
After a strong second half to 2022-23, a summer training camp, and a promising preseason, the Lakers are in a good position and many people think they could be one of the best teams in the West.
This has been a long time coming, with multiple players coming and going over the last several years.
The team has been trying to find the right combination for long-term success and Ham thinks they have that now.
Ham recently announced the team’s official starting lineup for the opening game against the Denver Nuggets.
James, Davis, Russell, Reaves, and newcomer Taurean Prince will be leading the team.
Those players will aim to impress but the team’s second unit is stronger than ever and they also hope to have an impact.
Ham and the team’s front office hve been waiting a long time for a moment like this and now they are ready to give Lakers fans something to cheer about.
