The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be a juggernaut in the Western Conference for the 2023-24 NBA season.

While the Purple and Gold did reach the 2023 Western Conference Finals, they were not the favorites.

However, the Lakers made several moves earlier this offseason, and it made them arguably the deepest team in the league.

The new-look Lakers tried things out for the first time in training camp this week.

Head coach Darvin Ham was apparently very impressed with the team’s new roster, as he revealed via the Lakers’ official Twitter handle.

“The tenacity, the athleticism, the speed … we’re really blessed with the roster we have,” Ham said.

For the first time since the 2019-20 NBA season, the Lakers have a roster that’s well-built in every regard.

The Lakers have two superstars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Moreover, the organization has several key supporting players on the roster, like Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, and Rui Hachimura.

To make things better, the Lakers acquired several good role players, such as Christian Wood and Caleb Martin.

All things considered, Rob Pelinka did a terrific job of building an excellent roster around James and Davis.

Now, it’s up to Ham to make the most out of Pelinka’s offseason efforts.

After all, it will be Ham’s strategy that will ultimately dictate how the Lakers use their talented roster.

What’s the realistic ceiling for the Lakers?

It will be clear once the new season begins.
