The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t really made a dent this season with their performance.
Despite the Lakers playing well in the NBA In-Season Tournament, the organization has had an otherwise underwhelming season.
As a result, it’s only obvious that some friction is starting to form between the players and the coaching staff.
According to Lakers reporter Anthony Irwin, guard Austin Reaves and head coach Darvin Ham are apparently having issues following only getting limited minutes this season.
“I’m here to tell you, I’ve heard it very clearly, that for whatever reason, Ham doesn’t mess with Austin the way that you would think he would,” Irwin said.

Austin Reaves emerged as one of the most crucial players for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2022-23 NBA season.
After all, Reaves helped the Lakers clinch a spot in the postseason during the second half of the season.
Reaves impressed the front office of the Lakers by averaging 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game for the team last season.
He was awarded with a four-year, $53.8 million contract by the Purple and Gold ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.
Speaking of his performance, he is averaging 15.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game this campaign.
Despite his good numbers, Reaves has started just nine out of the 32 games he has played so far in the season.
Moreover, he is also shooting a solid 48.3% from the field and 37.4% from the three-point line.
All things considered, Reaves is apparently seeking an increased involvement within the team, and if Irwin’s report is correct, it could lead to the 25-year-old getting further disgruntled and ultimately demanding a trade from the Lakers.
Can the organization solve this issue sooner rather than later? Only time will tell.
