The Los Angeles Lakers won two games in a row recently, putting an end to their dreadful four-game losing streak, but they lost again on Thursday night.
That massive defeat at the hands of the Phoenix Suns once again raised a lot of alarms and had people questioning the future of the team.
Will the Lakers be making big changes soon because of the problems they have?
According to Chris Haynes, they are certainly going to try.
Haynes is reporting, via NBACentral, that the Lakers are “expected to seriously pursue” Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks.
“The Lakers want to push the pace offensively and someone who can serve as a point-of-attack defender. Rival executives believe the Lakers and Raptors, to name a few, will begin progressing to more serious discourse with the Atlanta Hawks pertaining to star guard Dejounte Murray, sources say,” he said.

The Lakers would be smart to sign Murray because he is producing 21.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.
Plus, he’s a strong defender as well, which means he would help the Lakers on both ends of the floor.
Thursday night’s dismantling by the Suns again showed the problems the team has with defense and that makes Murray even more appealing.
But do the Lakers have what it takes to get Murray?
They would have to move multiple players and trade picks to make any sort of deal happen.
Ever since the front office decimated the roster in order to get Russell Westbrook a few seasons ago, they have been hesitant to pursue any sort of trade like that.
But the team is looking rough right now and they want a big change so they can have a big turnaround.
Will Murray give them what they need?
