The Los Angeles Lakers will look slightly the same next season.

For the most part, Rob Pelinka will have the same core of players on the team, although not by choice.

The Lakers have struggled to find new faces to give JJ Redick a hand in his first year as a head coach.

They haven’t been able to trade for a big name, and their attempts to lure another star in free agency were futile as well.

That’s why they’ll have to get their reinforcements in-house and why Redick will need to make the most of the hand that he’s been given.

Notably, one of those guys who could step up is Max Christie, and he’s looking to get a clean slate next season.

According to NBA numbers specialist Etienne Catalan, Christie made the most of Taurean Prince’s departure to get a hold of the No. 12 jersey.

Moreover, his younger brother, Cameron, will also wear No. 12, albeit with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Christie broke out in last year’s Summer League and preseason, and most people thought he would have a more prominent role with the Lakers last season.

A report even stated that the players were disappointed in the fact that Darvin Ham barely used him or gave him a chance.

His scoring prowess could come quite handily off the bench for this team, and now that they’ve decided to re-sign him and keep him around, one can only hope that Redick will give him a longer leash next season.
