With the NFL heading into the final three weeks of the regular season, the league is starting to take shape in terms of which teams are legitimate Super Bowl title contenders and which teams are pretenders with the end of their season looming.

At this point in time, two teams in particular have set themselves apart in the form of the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens, who are arguably the two best teams in the league.

On Christmas Day, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens will hit the road to take on Brock Purdy and the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in the Bay Area, with bragging rights on the line as well as the distinction as the best team in the league with the start of the NFL playoffs only a few weeks away.

With this game being played on the Christmas Day holiday and being the most anticipated game of Week 16, Jackson was asked about the notion that this game may very well be a Super Bowl preview, which he downplayed, via Ari Meirov.

Lamar Jackson on people saying Monday night’s Ravens-49ers game is a Super Bowl preview:

“The Super Bowl is in February. We’re in December right now.”

Jackson isn’t wrong, as there is a lot that can happen between now and February when the two best teams in the league go head-to-head in the Super Bowl, but this will be a statement game on Monday, with everyone anxious to see which one of these heavyweights will come out on top.

The 49ers are currently the favorite at home, as the team is arguably better on both sides of the football, but anything can happen once these teams head into battle.
