The Baltimore Ravens added a big-time player in the offseason, both literally and figuratively.
Derrick Henry is an absolute unit, and while he was a bit of a late-bloomer, he eventually proved why scouts were so high on him coming out of college.
They were one of the best rushing teams in the league.
And while they won’t have a running back committee anymore, Henry’s addition just made them even scarier.
At least, that’s how Lamar Jackson feels.
The defending MVP gushed about his new teammate (via SiriusXM NFL Radio).
“He’s a do it all back…..he’s just huge.” @Ravens QB Lamar Jackson told us on the Training Camp Tour what RB Derrick Henry will bring to the Baltimore offense.

Jackson talked about how ‘huge’ Henry is and how he can do a little bit of everything.
While he’s known for wearing defenses down on the ground, Jackson added that he’s also a very good pass-catcher.
Moreover, he thinks that opposing defenses will now be forced to play them honestly, as they will have a massive threat coming out of the backfield.
The Ravens’ offense was very good in Todd Monken’s first year as offensive coordinator.
He helped Jackson post the best numbers of his career, passing-wise, and he finally looked quite comfortable in the pocket.
Having Henry by his side will also help him stay out of harm’s way, as he won’t have to scramble as often as he did in the past.
Of course, Jackson is always more dangerous when rolling out of the pocket and finding his receivers in stride.
Even so, health has always been a concern for him, and the Ravens did a great job of protecting him with this signing.
