Ever since Lamar Odom’s NBA career came to an end, it has been a rocky road for the two-time NBA champion and former NBA Sixth Man of the Year, as he has struggled with his battle with drugs during his post-playing career.
During some of the toughest times in his life off the floor, former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant tried to help him on multiple occasions, especially when he nearly died in Las Vegas due to a drug overdose.
Unfortunately, Bryant tragically died in a helicopter accident in 2020, which really left a lasting impact on Odom, but it seems to have helped him get on the straight and narrow, as he’s begun to help others who struggle with addiction.
As a tribute to his close friend, Odom had a mural commissioned for a wellness center, which features him and Bryant during a moment on the court playing for the Lakers.
My partners at @VanityWellness commissioned Taylor Gallegos to re-create an on the court moment I shared with Kobe at their wellness center. Turned out incredible. Thank you. pic.twitter.com/UfSmNIITKa

Along with Bryant being featured in this mural with Odom, the former Lakers superstar will have the great honor of having a bronze statue outside of Crypto.com Arena, along with other Lakers legends like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and his old teammate Shaquille O’Neal.
Bryant’s statue will be unveiled on February 8, 2024, ahead of his former team taking on the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in Los Angeles.
