The Brooklyn Nets’ Big 3 era will go down in infamy as one of the greatest failures in major sports history.

They had James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving on the court at the same time and absolutely nothing to show for it, other than a handful of picks, some players, and a lot of headaches.

However, as terrible and toxic as that time was for the organization, it was actually good on the court for some players.

That includes former All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge, who recently joined the Oddball podcast to talk about his time in Brooklyn.

“Playing with those guys, it was crazy how simple the game became.”

There, the former Portland Trail Blazers raved about those guys’ talents, stating that they just made the game so simple.

Aldridge’s tenure in Brooklyn was short-lived, though, as he had to retire early because of a heart condition.

The same can be said of the Big 3, who became a Big 2 as soon as Harden bailed and forced his way out to Philadelphia.

This Nets team is living proof that stacking up talent isn’t enough to get the job done.

You need accountability and players who are willing to commit and put their egos aside and lead, and they had none of that.

That trio could’ve been the single greatest offensive juggernaut this game had ever seen, but they could never get out of their own way.

Mismanagement, a lack of accountability, and massive egos made the Nets regret the second they signed them to those big contracts, and they couldn’t get rid of them fast enough.
