The Philadelphia Eagles entered last season with high hopes and expectations, but they weren’t able to deliver.

Despite starting the season 10-1, it never felt like the same team that had just made it to the Super Bowl.

They eventually collapsed and failed to win a single playoff game, all while also allowing the Dallas Cowboys to take the divisional pennant away from them.

Now, looking back to that season, it might have been all due to frustration.

At least, that’s how veteran tackle Lane Johnson feels.

Talking to Kay Adams for her Up & Adams Show, he stated that as much as the effort was always there, the fact that they couldn’t get the job done only made it all the more frustrating for them.

“Even when we were 10-1 those games were a lot closer than they needed to be… collectively it was frustrating,” Johnson said.

He also talked about how much they would’ve wanted the season to have a better outcome for Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox, who retired at the end of the campaign.

The Eagles are still one of the teams to beat in the NFC, and Johnson states they just want to get back on the field right away to prove it.

They lost two key pieces and leaders in the locker room, but they still have more than enough talent to get the job done and compete at the highest level.

And while the San Francisco 49ers are still the biggest powerhouse in the conference, Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni made sure to make some key additions to the roster and the coaching staff, so don’t be shocked if they get back to the promised land next season.
