The Boston Celtics won the NBA championship last month, and now the question in the minds of many is how many more championships will they be able to run off with their young core.
Their two main stars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, are both in their mid-20s and while starting point guard Jrue Holiday is 34 years of age, plenty of people feel Boston can become a dynasty.
However, the Eastern Conference has gotten stronger over the last few years, and it isn’t exactly the “Leastern Conference” people may remember it being in the 2000s.
In particular, the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks have become legitimate championship contenders, while the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers continue to lurk.
Former NBA head coach Larry Brown said on SiriusXM NBA Radio that the Sixers, a team he coached for six seasons, are the best team in the league right now.

The Sixers added forward Paul George, a nine-time All-Star who Brown called “one of the true great players on both ends of the court,” as he is one of the few players in basketball who can score 20-25 points and also hound the other team’s best scoring wing on defense.
He will join 2022-23 regular season MVP and two-time scoring champion Joel Embiid and rising star guard Tyrese Maxey to give Philly a legitimate big three.
But Philly also brought in supporting players such as veteran guard Eric Gordon, forward Caleb Martin and center Andre Drummond to bolster their depth.
The concern, however, is health — both George and Embiid are notoriously injury-prone, and both also have a history of underperforming in the playoffs.
But on paper, Brown’s assessment of the Sixers could very well be accurate.
