LeBron James was a crucial part of Team USA as they defeated the competition and won their gold medal for men’s basketball at the recent Paris Olympics.
It wasn’t the first time James played in the Olympics but it was likely the last.
However, he feels that he could have won other golds during his career because he thinks he has what it takes to compete in other sports.
Speaking with The Shop, per Legion Hoops, James said he could have conquered in other Olympic games.
“Maybe the long jump. I think I could do the long jump, maybe, or the high jump. If you give me some time. I need about six months, eight months, or whatever, preparation to get to that,” James said.

Was James being serious or was he simply joking around?
The truth is that he isn’t the only person who has said he could have played in other sports at the Olympics.
In fact, numerous players on Team USA said that James could have been a track and field star if he wasn’t playing basketball.
His speed and skills have been on full display for years, including during the 2024 games.
Even at 39 years old, James can still lift himself high off the ground in order to dunk or block.
It is this sort of talent that would help him be a long or high jump superstar.
Of course, James would have to compete against international athletes who are much younger than him.
Although that would be a challenge, James is already playing against people who are more than ten years his junior and he is still dominating.
Therefore, maybe he really would be able to win gold in a different field.
