Los Angeles Lakers fans have made peace with the fact that they are nearing the end of LeBron James’ career.
James is about to enter his 21st season in the league and while he is still putting up sensational statistics, the 38-year-old is surely coming close to hanging up his jersey.
He was asked about retirement during Monday’s Media Day, and James gave a very honest answer.
Saying he is happy right now and excited for training camp and the season ahead, he admitted that he doesn’t know if this will be his last year in the NBA.
“I don’t know what the end of this road looks like or at the end of the season. I have no idea,” James said, via ClutchPoints.

This is a painful answer to many NBA fans but not a surprising one.
At the conclusion of last season, James said he was toying with the idea of retiring.
He didn’t toy with the concept for very long and then said he was committed to coming back in 2023-24.
He looks incredibly healthy and driven, ready to take on the new season just like he has the 20 before.
And he is still a hugely consequential part of this Lakers roster.
In 2022-23, James averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists on 50% from the floor.
Even after all these years, he still led his team in points per game and is without question the Lakers’ leader.
James has always said that he will do what is best for himself, his body, and his family.
Right now, he is prepared for the long, tough year ahead.
But there is a possibility he will be feeling differently when the offseason rolls around.
