The Los Angeles Lakers have built their entire team around LeBron James.
Now, they could be at risk of losing him.
James has a player option for the final year of his contract, and he recently admitted that he still doesn’t know what he’s going to do about that (via Dave McMenamin).
“No,” James said when asked if he knows what he will do with the contract option for the Lakers this summer.

For years, people have speculated that James would leave the Lakers to sign with whoever gets his firstborn son, Bronny James, in the upcoming NBA Draft.
Bronny’s draft stock, however, has plummeted drastically after showing that he’s far from ready and not an impactful player for the USC Trojans, not to mention the fact that he suffered a major health scare in the offseason.
It’s reached a point where ESPN’s latest mock draft has Bronny going undrafted.
Even so, James has constantly pulled this kind of move when it comes to his future with an organization.
This isn’t the first time that he’s purposely made it seem like he’s about to leave the Lakers, even though his production company is based in Los Angeles and his family has also established themselves in the area.
James’ tenure in Southern California has been far from successful on the court, with one championship and countless struggles to even make the playoffs.
Still, he continues to be their best player, and they’re going to have a tough time filling in for him when he finally decides to leave, whether it’s because he’s going to retire or he wants to take his talents somewhere else again.
