The Los Angeles Lakers made sure to keep their band together for the upcoming campaign, rewarding some of their best players with a bit of a pay raise.
Needless to say, the most notorious one was for Austin Reaves, who broke out and played his way up to Darvin Ham’s starting lineup last season.
Reaves earned the praise, respect, and recognition from his teammates, bosses, and now fans, up to the point where LeBron James has openly praised him multiple times already.
As a matter of fact, James couldn’t contain his excitement after watching his teammate dominate with Team USA during their first tune-up game vs. Puerto Rico.

Reaves went undrafted and had to put in the work to earn his spot with the Lakers.
He went from not even being a lock to make the roster to signing a five-year deal worth north of $50 million, becoming the starting shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Moreover, the fact that he also got the nod to play for the national team in the FIBA World Cup speaks volumes of the hard work he’s put in and how impressive his upbringing in the league has been.
Reaves is expected to have a bigger role on Darvin Ham’s team going forward, and he should take some scoring and playmaking duties off LeBron James’ shoulders, so props to the Lakers development team for finding him, developing him, and staying patient with him until he was ready to bust out.
