At 39 years old, superstar forward LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers continues to play at a high level for the storied franchise with his 21st regular season near its end.

Along with passing Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, James has eclipsed the 40,000-point mark and continues to strive for milestones that have never been achieved in the league.

According to Legion Hoops, the next major milestone for James’ playing career in the league will be being the first player with 40,000 points, 11,000 rebounds, and 11,000 assists, which he’s only 59 assists away from achieving, meaning he could accomplish this before the end of the regular season.

Obviously, James is in a category of his own now with ridiculous numbers, which could end up standing the test of time in the NBA, as his longevity is something that might never be achieved again on the professional level.

Currently, the Lakers are trying to avoid playing in the Play-In Tournament, with their sights set on the sixth seed.

However, that might be impossible at present, with the Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, and Dallas Mavericks ahead of them in the Western Conference standings.

The Lakers have eight regular-season games remaining to improve their spot in the West with the Play-In Tournament seemingly inevitable at this point.

Even though it’s not ideal for the Lakers to have to play their way into the playoff picture in the West, James and company were able to do that last season and reached the Western Conference Finals.
