LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is still playing terrific basketball but there is no doubt that his time in the NBA is coming to an end.

And he is already making plans for what he wants to do after he retires from the league.

According to Evan Sidery, James’ business partner Maverick Carter told Pat McAfee that the Lakers star is “dead set” on becoming an NBA team owner once he retires.

James continues to “zero in” on owning an expansion team, most likely the one that opens in Las Vegas in the next few years.

James has been linked to the potential Vegas team for years.

As the NBA has inched closer and closer to announcing an expansion team, James has become even more linked to it.

He has publicly said that he would love to be a co-owner of that team and has dipped his toes into the ownership of other squads in different sports.

Even when he hangs up his jersey, James wants to be closely tied to the NBA.

Although he wouldn’t be playing for the Vegas team, James would still bring a ton of attention and excitement to the franchise, whenever it may launch.

There is much speculation that Adam Silver will announce new teams within the next couple of years, which perfectly lines up with James’ alleged retirement.

The NBA will be expanding just as he is leaving it, which means he will be able to easily move from player to co-owner.

James might not be playing much longer but he isn’t leaving the NBA.
